This website is owned and operated by The Dallas County Historical Foundation (d/b/a The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza, a Texas nonprofit corporation (“Sixth Floor Museum,” “we,” “our,” or “us”). This Privacy Policy applies to our website and any mobile applications that post a link to this page (collectively, the “Site”). By accessing our Site, you consent to this Privacy Policy and our Terms of Use, including our collection, use, and sharing of your information, as described below. Information We Collect
We collect information from you in several ways, including when you choose to share information with us by entering it on our Site, through the postings that you make, and by using automated processes. We also collect information about your transactions with us, such as requests for information regarding event rentals, job applications, purchases through our online shop, online ticketing, and donations.
Information You Provide to Us
We may ask you and you may choose to provide certain personal information to us, such as your first and last name, e-mail address, mailing and billing addresses, and telephone number. You may also choose to provide us with additional information, such as your organizational affiliation, your educational and work experience, your resume, and other information required to process employment applications. We may collect this information in various places, including account registration forms, during the checkout process when you make a purchase or donation, when you submit a job application, through “contact us” forms, through our “Book a Group Visit” form, or in other parts of our Site. You may also choose to submit your credit card number or other payment information through our Site in connection with a purchase or donation. We use PCI-compliant third-party payment processors and do not collect or store payment information directly. Please see our disclosure below under “Donations and Purchases” for more information about how your payment information is collected and processed.
Donations and Purchases
In order to make donations or purchases on the Site, you will need to provide payment information, such as your credit card or debit card number and expiration date. We may collect and store information about such donations and purchases, such as the items purchased and the amount of the payment, but we do not process or store any payment information directly. When you submit payment information to our Site, you are submitting your information to one of our PCI-compliant third-party payment processors as detailed below. The Sixth Floor Museum strives to ensure that all of its vendors and affiliates maintain industry-standard privacy policies. Please be aware, however, that we do not control the privacy policies and practices of our third-party payment processors.
If you choose to give an online donation, you will be redirected to a site governed by our third-party donation’s payment processor, Blackbaud. To understand how Blackbaud collects, processes and stores your payment information, please review the Blackbaud Privacy Policy.
If you choose to make a purchase in our online store, the purchase will be managed by our third-party purchase’s payment processor, Shopify. To understand how Shopify collects, processes and stores your payment information, please review the Shopify Privacy Policy.
If you choose to purchase tickets through our Site, the purchase will be managed by our third-party ticketing payment processor, Gateway Ticketing Systems. Postings You Make
You may choose to make postings, such as comments or other content, on our Site. Any content that you choose to post on our Site, including information about you such as your name or likeness, will be publicly available for viewing and potential use by others. We may use the content that you post for any purposes that we deem appropriate, including advertising, marketing, publicity, and promotional activities, and we may choose whether to attribute such content to you when we use it. Automated Information Collection
We may automatically collect certain information when you visit or use our Site. Our Site may include features from third parties that allow you to interact with other online services, including social media. Third-Party Tracking and Do Not Track
Third parties may use tracking technologies in connection with our Site, which may include the collection of information about your online activities over time and across third-party websites. This Privacy Policy does not apply to these third-party technologies because we may not control them, and we are not responsible for them. Do Not Track is a technology that enables users to opt out of tracking by websites they do not visit. Currently, we do not monitor or take any action with respect to Do Not Track technology.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes. All other categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
Updating Your Information
Our Site may allow you to update the information that we collect from you, such as the contact information that you provide when you register for an account. How We Protect Your Information
We use commercially reasonable and industry standard security technologies and safeguards to protect the information that we collect and use. We also expect our service providers to protect information in the same manner. However, no data transmission over the Internet, mobile networks, wireless transmission or electronic storage of information can be guaranteed 100% secure. Please note that we cannot guarantee the security of any information you transmit to us.
Transfer of Information to the United States
This Site is intended for use only by residents of the United States. If you are from a country outside of the United States, please be aware that the personal information you submit, including information provided through our Site, is being sent to a location in the United States. The data protection laws in the United States may differ from those of the country in which you are located, and your personal information may be subject to access requests from governments, courts, or law enforcement in the United States according to laws of the United States. Children’s Privacy
Our Site is intended for general audiences, and we do not knowingly seek or collect personal information from children under the age of 18. In accordance with the Child Online Privacy Protection Act, in the event that we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under age 13 without verification of parental consent, we will delete that information as quickly as possible. We reserve the right to change this Privacy Policy at any time and we will post notice of any such changes on our Site.
