Commemorative Postage Stamp

On what would have been President Kennedy’s forty-seventh birthday, the U.S. Post Office issues a memorial five-cent stamp in memory of the late president. The rectangular stamp quoted from President Kennedy’s 1961 inaugural address and included a portrait and a depiction of the eternal flame at the Kennedy gravesite. Mrs. Kennedy approved the final design and chose the blue-gray color of the stamp.
