Ailing Jack Ruby

While awaiting a new murder trial to be held in Wichita Falls, Texas, Jack Ruby was taken to Parkland Memorial Hospital in December 1966, suffering from pneumonia. Doctors soon discovered that he had advanced cancer. On January 3, 1967, Jack Ruby dies at Parkland. According to his death certificate, the cause was “pulmonary emboli… secondary to bronchiolar carcinoma of the lungs.”
