Acoustics Panel

The National Research Council’s Report of the Committee on Ballistics Acoustics is issued. The study re-examined controversial acoustical evidence that allegedly included sounds of the assassination, as captured by an open microphone on a Dallas police motorcycle. The acoustics panel concluded that the acoustical impulses attributed to gunshots were actually recorded one minute after the assassination. Therefore, the panel found no evidence to support a second gunman on the grassy knoll.
