Around 1:15 p.m. on Friday, November 22, 1963, duty placed Dallas Police Officer J.D. Tippit near the corner of Tenth and Patton streets in the Oak Cliff section of Dallas. Pierce Allman is a career journalist, working as WFAA-Radio’s program director in 1963 covering President Kennedy’s visit to Dallas. He was one of the first reporters inside the Texas School Book Depository after shots were fired at the Kennedy motorcade.
