Image 6 from Negative Strip 17: Parkland of a man speaking to reporters during a press conference

Image #6 on 35mm Negative Strip 17.Black and white; HorizontalThe old TMS record for the images on this negative strip did not identify a photographer. Based on research conducted by collections intern Mark Davies in June and July 2012, curatorial and collections staff concluded that while the specific photographer cannot be identified, we do know it was one of two men: There were two DTH photographers at Parkland Hospital that day who stayed for the press conference - Eamon Kennedy and John Mazziotta. One of them took these photos. Bob Jackson, who was at Parkland earlier, was not present at the press conference. (Lindsey Richardson, 8/1/12) Also noted at the 2012 meeting: Bob Fenley is the reporter on the left and the man with the pen in his mouth is "the White House guy" - to be identified by the curators. (Lindsey Richardson 7/10/2103)Shots taken during the press conference as Malcolm Kilduff announces that the President has died. Bob Welch, of WBAP-TV, can be seen behind his camera
