Image 19 from Negative Strip 8: Love Field of President Kennedy and "We welcome you with vigah J.F.K." sign
Image 19 from Negative Strip 8 Original 35mm black and white negative by a Dallas Times Herald staff photographer. This image shows President Kennedy and the crowd at the fence at Love Field and a well-wisher's sign: "We Welcome You With Vigah J.F.K." (spelling the word vigor as "vigah" to reflect Kennedy's Boston accent). The images on this negative strip were taken by a Dallas Times Herald staff photographer. There were three photographers at Love Field that day: John Mazziotta, Bob Jackson and Eamon Kennedy. It is not known which of the three took the pictures on this strip. Black and white; VerticalThe old TMS record for the images on this negative strip attributed the photographs to John Mazziotta. Based on research conducted by collections intern Mark Davies in June and July 2012, curatorial and collections staff concluded that this attribution cannot be proven. The attribution was changed to indicate that the photographs were taken by one of the three DTH photographers assigned to be at Love Field that morning: John Mazziotta, Eamon Kennedy or Bob Jackson.
