Image 19 from Negative Strip 41: Dallas Police Department of Lee Harvey Oswald with police officers

Original 35mm black and white negative taken by an unidentified Dallas Times Herald staff photographer. The image shows Lee Harvey Oswald being escorted into the Homicide and Robbery Bureau of the Dallas Police Department headquarters on the morning of November 23, 1963. The negative is on Kodak Tri-X Pan Film. This image is labeled #19 on section 2 of negative strip 41.The old TMS record for the images on this negative strip did not identify a photographer. Based on research conducted by collections intern Mark Davies in June and July 2012, curatorial and collections staff concluded that it is not possible to say at this time who took the photos. (Katie Womack, 7/30/13) Also noted at the 2012 curatorial meeting: the images on this strip were taken Saturday morning, 11-23-63. Gary indicated there were two clues to confirm this timing: Jim Leavelle is in his "weekend suit" and Oswald appears in a t-shirt. (Katie Womack, 7/30/2013)Oswald being led into Homicide and Robbery Bureau on Saturday morning
