"Assassination and Commemoration" Program

Videotaped public program titled "Assassination and Commemoration: A Conversation," featuring Stephen Fagin and Sixth Floor Museum founders Lindalyn Adams and Conover Hunt. Conover Hunt served as the original project director and curator for the Dallas County Historical Foundation and was instrumental in the planning, research and content of The Sixth Floor exhibit. Lindalyn Adams, a community leader and award-winning champion of historic preservation in Dallas, was the key leader in establishing The Sixth Floor exhibit and devoted more than a decade to the project. The program was moderated by Curator Stephen Fagin and based on his 2013 book, "Assassination and Commemoration: JFK, Dallas and The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza." This public program was conducted on the seventh floor of The Sixth FloorMuseum at Dealey Plaza on May 29, 2013. The program is fifty-seven minutes long.

Curatorial Note:

This public program marked the publication of my book, Assassination and Commemoration: JFK, Dallas and The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza and also commemorated what would have been the 96th birthday of President John F. Kennedy on May 29, 2013. Remarkably, even though Lindalyn Adams and Conover Hunt worked closely for more than a decade on The Sixth Floor exhibit project, this was the first - and only - time that the two of them publicly discussed their experiences together. In addition to this Museum recording for the Oral History Collection, the program was concurrently recorded by C-SPAN as part of the long-running Book TV series. The episode first aired on July 1, 2013 and may be accessed on the C-SPAN website: [Assassination and Commemoration] | C-SPAN.org - Stephen Fagin, Curator
