Videotaped oral history interview with Lu Mitchell. A Dallas-based songwriter and folk singer for more than 45 years, Mitchell performed at numerous civil rights and peace movement rallies, including vigils held in Dealey Plaza. She saw the presidential motorcade as it exited Dallas Love Field and later that weekend wrote a poignant ballad in memory of President Kennedy.Interview conducted at Ms. Mitchell's home on May 13, 2008 by Stephen Fagin, Associate Curator. The interview is fifty-six minutes long.

She also put to music and performed for the first time the lyrics she wrote during the weekend of the assassination in memory of President Kennedy.
