June Dishong journal
Ten-page journal handwritten by June Dishong the day of the assassination of President Kennedy in Dealey Plaza. Some eyewitnesses to the assassination, like Ms. Dishong, quickly put their observations on paper either to remember or to share with family members or friends; some accounts, like this personal diary, went into great detail. According to her daughter, June Dishong rarely spoke of the assassination, saying only that thinking about it made her very sad.

Ms. Dishong had passed away at age 90 and her heirs found it among her possessions. The diary was donated to The Sixth Floor Museum in 2004. - Gary Mack, Curator
