James E. Jennings Oral History
Videotaped oral history interview with James E. Jennings. A Dallas police officer for thirteen years, Jennings was at Dallas Love Field and Parkland Memorial Hospital on November 22, 1963. He was later the local announcer for Dallas Cowboys football games for more than two decades. Interview conducted at Mr. Jennings' home on April 28, 1994 by Wes Wise and Bob Porter. The interview is one hour and fourteen minutes long.

James E. Jennings passed away on December 2, 2004. In addition to his career as a Dallas police officer and as the voice of the Dallas Cowboys from 1968 to 1988, Mr. Jennings was the announcer for Mesquite Championship Rodeo for thirty-five years as well as a member of the Dallas School Board from 1971 to 1975. After retiring, he and his wife, Linda Jennings, traveled the state and authored the book, Touring Texas Towns...and some that ain't (2002). - Stephen Fagin, Curator
