Image 7 from Negative Strip 8: Love Field of Vice President and Mrs. Johnson

Original 35mm black and white negative taken by a Dallas Times Herald staff photographer. This image shows Vice President Lyndon B. Johnson and Lady Bird Johnson walking in front of a motorcade limousine at Love Field to greet the Kennedys on the morning of November 22, 1963. The images on this negative strip were taken by a Dallas Times Herald staff photographer. There were three photographers at Love Field that day: John Mazziotta, Bob Jackson and Eamon Kennedy. It is not known which of the three took the pictures on this strip. The negative is on Kodak Tri-X Pan Film. The image is labeled #7 on section 1 of negative strip 8.The old TMS record for the images on this negative strip attributed the photographs to John Mazziotta. Based on research conducted by collections intern Mark Davies in June and July 2012, curatorial and collections staff concluded that this attribution cannot be proven. The attribution was changed to indicate that the photographs were taken by one of the three DTH photographers assigned to be at Love Field that morning: John Mazziotta, Eamon Kennedy or Bob Jackson.
