Curatorial Note:

The deputy sheriff in this photograph is Raymond "Sonny" Fisher, riding his personal horse, Snuffy. Fisher, at the time, was the only full-time Tarrant County deputy sheriff on horseback. Despite his youthful appearance, he was in charge of all of the other law enforcement on horseback outside the Hotel Texas. Fisher recorded a videotaped oral history in 2009 and has also participated in educational programming at the Museum. - Stephen Fagin, Curator
