Image 28 from Negative Strip 14: Parkland of the hearse leaving Parkland Hospital

Original 35mm black and white negative taken by a Dallas Times Herald staff photographer. This image shows a hearse from the Oneal Funeral Home carrying the body of President Kennedy, leaving Parkland Hospital with a police motorcycle escort en route to Love Field on November 22, 1963. The images on this negative strip were taken by a Dallas Times Herald staff photographer. There were three photographers at Parkland Hospital that day: John Mazziotta, Bob Jackson and Eamon Kennedy. It is unknown which of the three took these pictures. The negative is on Kodak Tri-X Pan Film. The image is labeled #28 on section 1 of negative strip 14.Image overlaps with image #27 due to camera jam. The old TMS record for the images on this negative strip did not identify a photographer. Based on research conducted by collections intern Mark Davies in June and July 2012, curatorial and collections staff concluded that while the specific photographer cannot be identified, we do know it was one of three men: There were three DTH photographers assigned to Love Field that morning - Eamon Kennedy, Bob Jackson and John Mazziotta. One of them took these photos. (LR, 8/1/12)The hearse leaves Parkland Hospital on its way to Love Field
