Image 21 from Negative Strip 18: Parkland of Vice President Lyndon B. Johnson leaving Parkland Hospital
Original 35mm black and white negative taken by unidentified Dallas Times Herald staff photographer. This image shows Vice President Lyndon B. Johnson and Secret Service agent Rufus Youngblood leaving Parkland Hospital to return to Love Field on November 22, 1963. The negative is on Kodak Tri-X Pan Film. The image is labeled #20A on section 2 of negative strip 18.The old TMS record for the images on this negative strip did not identify a photographer. Based on research conducted by collections intern Mark Davies in June and July 2012, curatorial and collections staff concluded that while the specific photographer cannot be identified, we do know it was one of three men: There were three DTH photographers whose schedules might have allowed them to take these pictures - Eamon Kennedy, Bill Beal and John Mazziotta. One of them took these photos. Bob Jackson, who was at Parkland earlier, did not take these photographs. Also noted at the 2012 curatorial meeting: the photographer for this strip started at the Trade Mart then went to Parkland. Could check Eamon Kennedy's oral history for more information.
