Image 10 from Negative Strip 21: Trade Mart of a rocking chair beside a telephone

Original 35mm black and white negative taken by a Dallas Times Herald staff photographer. This image shows the presidential communications room located on the fourth floor of the Dallas Trade Mart on November 21, 1963. The negative is on Kodak Tri-X Pan Film. The image is labeled #10 on section 2 of negative strip 21. The images on this negative strip were likely taken by one of two Dallas Times Herald staff photographers at the Dallas Trade Mart that day: Bill Beal or Bob Jackson. It is unknown which of the two men took these pictures. The old TMS record for the images on this negative strip indicate that the photographer might have been John Mazziotta. Based on research conducted by collections intern Mark Davies in June and July 2012, curatorial and collections staff concluded that it was more likely these pre-assassination images were taken by either Bill Beal or Bob Jackson. (Katie Womack, 7/17/13) Labeled R37 on contact sheets 1989.100.0060 & 1989.100.0061Chair, rug, and other items in president's fourth-floor communications room at the Trade Mart
