Contact Sheet 1 from the Dallas Times Herald Collection (copy 2)

One black and white photographic contact sheet showing positive images for four separate negative strips. All of the images were taken by Dallas Times Herald photographers. This is the second of two copies of this contact sheet in the collection. This copy of the contact sheet has two red editors' marks on the third row of images. Such marks sheet indicate images that the photographer and his editor were interested in seeing again, possibly developed in a larger format, possibly to be printed.Photographers would develop a single sheet with images from multiple negative strips in order to see all the images at once and thus be better able to compare them and to select the best ones for publication. In this particular instance, all four of the negative strips are represented elsewhere in the Museum's Dallas Times Herald Collection. The first row of images, showing the fountain and communications room at the Dallas Trade Mart the day before the assassination, is from Negative Strip 21 (1989.100.0021.0006 through 1989.100.0021.0011). These pictures were thought to have been taken either by Bill Beal or Bob Jackson. The second row of images, showing the motorcade in downtown Dallas, is from Negative Strip 10 (1989.100.0010.0004 through 1989.100.0010.0009). These pictures were shot by Bill Beal. The third and fourth rows, also of the motorcade, are both from Negative Strip 11 (1989.100.0011.0001 through 1989.100.0011.0012). These pictures were also taken by Bill Beal.
