Color slide #00 of a parade scene in downtown Dallas
One 35mm color image on a Kodachrome Transparency slide of a street view scene of a parade procession in downtown Dallas. This image is undated. The procession includes several cars without tops driving in a single line going west on Commerce Street. People can be seen standing along the street's crosswalk and on the sidewalks. Some are watching the procession. Many of the cars have signs on the passenger doors. Men with red fezzes can be seen sitting in the front car. This slide is in a cardboard mount, and (unlike others in this collection) does not have a handwritten number on it. Handwritten in black in on the front side is "D.T. PAR." Attached at the top of the slide is a Post-it like note folded over like a tab, with the word "ASSASSINATION" handwritten in blue ink. At the bottom of this slide (inverse) reads, "MADE IN U.S.A." and a number "7" in the bottom right corner. On the emulsion side of slide at both ends is the brand name reading "KODACHROME TRANSPARENCY." The slide is a part of a series of slides of photographs titled "Assassination." The slide transparency has become discolored, and attached are two versions of the same image. The color corrected image has a green coloring in dark areas and shadows, while the initially scanned image has a purple tint. George Reid was a longtime John F. Kennedy supporter who campaigned for him in Texas. He also filmed home-movie footage of President Kennedy at Love Field in Dallas, and in Dealey Plaza on several occasions in the 1960s.
