Curatorial Note:

The individual who contributed a few questions in the background of this oral history was Paul Amundsen, a childhood friend who accompanied Carl Sutherland to the Museum for his oral history. In fact, Paul Amundsen had recorded his own oral history with the Museum twenty-five years earlier in 1998. That interview may be viewed here: https://emuseum.jfk.org/objects/17169. Immediately following Mr. Sutherland's 2023 interview, I had the great pleasure of recording a new oral history with Paul. - Stephen Fagin, Curator
