On the far right side of this photograph, notice the long sign that reads “Texas School Book Depository.” This faux signage, consisting of foam letters on a wood background, was a prop placed above the building’s doorway during the production of two television movies, The Trial of Lee Harvey Oswald (ABC, 1977) and Ruby and Oswald (CBS, 1978). Both movies were shot on location in Dallas during the summer of 1977, and this sign was apparently abandoned after filming. It is now part of the Museum’s Collection (1987.001.0136). - Stephen Fagin, Curator
