Curatorial Note:

The infant seen at top center-right in this photograph is fifteen-month-old Peggy Vaughan, who was at Dallas Love Field that day with her mother, Kathleen Vaughan. Kathleen and daughter Peggy recorded an oral history with the Museum in 2018 and donated both the dress that Mrs. Vaughan wore that day as well as the distinctive striped sailor outfit that Peggy wore when she had her brief interaction with President and Mrs. Kennedy along the fence line at Love Field. -- Stephen Fagin, Curator
