Edward Jay Epstein Oral History
Videotaped oral history interview with Edward Jay Epstein. A significant first-generation Kennedy assassination researcher in the 1960s and 1970s, Epstein wrote a trio of books exploring the Warren Commission, Jim Garrison's controversial investigation and the life of Lee Harvey Oswald: "Inquest" (1966), "Counterplot" (1968) and "Legend" (1978). Epstein interviewed Oswald associate George de Mohrenschildt on March 29, 1977, just a few hours before de Mohrenschildt committed suicide. Interview conducted at Mr. Epstein's home in New York City on April 14, 2004. The interview is one hour and five minutes long.

Edward Jay Epstein passed away on January 9, 2024 at the age of 88. In addition to his trio of books on the Kennedy assassination, published between 1966 and 1978, Epstein authored a number of books covering a broad range of topics, including journalism, politics and Hollywood. He revisited the Kennedy assassination once more with the 2013 publications, The JFK Assassination Diary and Sixty Versions of the Kennedy Assassination.
