Image 12 from Negative Strip 41: Dallas Police Department of a man on crutches speaking to reporters

Original 35mm black and white negative taken by an unidentified Dallas Times Herald staff photographer. The image shows Dallas Police Detective Paul Bentley speaking with reporters in the third floor hallway of Dallas Police Department headquarters on the morning of November 23, 1963. The negative is on Kodak Tri-X Pan Film. This image is labeled #12 on section 1 of negative strip 41.The old TMS record for the images on this negative strip did not identify a photographer. Based on research conducted by collections intern Mark Davies in June and July 2012, curatorial and collections staff concluded that it is not possible to say at this time who took the photos. (Katie Womack, 7/30/13) Also noted at the 2012 curatorial meeting: the images on this strip were taken Saturday morning, 11-23-63. Gary indicated there were two clues to confirm this timing: Jim Leavelle is in his "weekend suit" and Oswald appears in a t-shirt.
