Original 35mm black and white negative taken by Dallas Times Herald staff photographer William Allen. This image shows the view from the grassy knoll looking south towards the crowd gathered on Elm Street on November 22, 1963. The Babushka lady can be seen in the foreground of the image. The negative is on Kodak Tri-X Pan Film. This image is labeled #9 on section 1 of negative strip 26.The old TMS record for the images on this negative strip indicate that the photographer was William Allen. Based on research conducted by collections intern Mark Davies in June and July 2012, curatorial and collections staff concluded that Allen did indeed take these pictures. (Lindsey Richardson, 7/24/13) Also noted at that meeting, these pictures were taken between 12.30 and 1pm on the afternoon of the assassination.
