Original 35mm black and white negative taken by Dallas Times Herald staff photographer William Allen. This image shows Dallas Police officers on the steps to the entrance to the Texas School Book Depository on November 22, 1963. The negative is on Kodak Tri-X Pan Film. This image is labeled #4 on section 1 of negative strip 25.Labeled R10 on contact sheets 1989.100.0063 & 1989.100.0064 The old TMS record for the images on this negative strip indicate that the photographer was William Allen. Based on research conducted by collections intern Mark Davies in June and July 2012, curatorial and collections staff concluded that Allen did indeed take these pictures.
