Image of the main entrance to the Texas School Book Depository

Color print made from the original 35mm slide, #13 of 20 images, taken by Jay Skaggs from the southeast corner of Elm and Houston Streets. Although faded and slightly blurred, this image shows the northwest corner of the Elm-Houston streets intersection, the Texas School Book Depository doorway, an unidentified photographer and several police officers. The photo appears to have been taken before 1:00 p.m., less than 30 minutes after the assassination. The time can be determined because it is known that Dallas Police Captain Will Fritz arrived on the scene at 12:58 p.m. and his car is not visible in this image.
