Immediately after the assassination and in the following days and weeks, people left flowers and mementos in Dealey Plaza in honor of President Kennedy. This image was taken the weekend of the assassination and shows flower memorials and groups of mourners in Dealey Plaza looking towards Elm Street and the Texas School Book Depository building, on the roof of which can be seen the iconic Hertz sign.
