Home Movie Day

Join the Museum and the Dallas Municipal Archives at the Texas Theatre to celebrate Home Movie Day. Long before phone cameras and social media, people had to use film and videotape to document their lives. This free event celebrates the importance of saving and preserving home movies and home video.

 

If you have an interesting old home movie on film or videotape, you can bring it to the Dallas Municipal Archives between October 1 until October 15 to be inspected and prepared for the screening from 2 – 5 p.m. on October 22. If you don’t want to share it for the screening, you can bring your reels and tapes with you to the event to be inspected and learn how to care for it.
